Interview with Dr. Arnold Lippert, former vice president of Joseph Bancroft & Sons Co. / April 13, 1972 [typed transcript].

Dr. Lippert discusses strategy at Bancroft during the 1940s and 1950s, particularly the refusal of the Bancroft family and William Ralph MacIntyre to sever their deep roots in the Wilmington area and follow Lippert's advice to relocate to the South or to dilute family control by merging with a larger company. He describes the role of MacIntyre in rescuing the firm during the Depression, and their later reliance on research, which he directed, and licensing patent rights.
